The farmhouse by the brook hides a wood burning sauna and a salt chamber. Outside the house you can find a huge open-air hot water bathtub suitable for 12 people at a time.

About us
It was love at first sight. That is how it all began.
In 2002 the Szász family bought the piece of land where an old farm house and a
barn were standing. Later on, they collected several doomed houses from the
Ghimes valley and rebuilt them preserving their original form. This is how the
Skanzen came into being.
The Skanzen, this open-air ethnographic museum has been welcoming guests since
2008 and allows visitors to explore 14 old farm houses that have been preserved
from dilapidation. The village museum provides accommodation for tourists and also
functions as event venue for weddings, camps and various corporate events

We offer accommodation for up to 125 guests and provide catering for 250 people.
Thus, our visitors can have the opportunity to experience the past through
gastronomy in a traditional environment.
A huge event barn (seats 220 people), a covered terrace (seats 80 people), two
smaller event halls (for 40-40 people), a water-mill, a museum and a chapel all stand
at our guests’ disposal in beautiful natural environment. A hot water tub (with room
for 12 people at a time), a wood-burning sauna and a salt chamber serve for the
perfect relaxation of guests.
For those who would like to explore the surroundings we provide guided tours by
horse-drawn wagons, cross-country cars, however, hiking is also a good opportunity
to enjoy the scenery. The local traditional culture is presented in the course of the
“gyimesi est”, an evening event organized especially for our guests. For more

For lovers of winter sports there is a ski slope at a 3 km distance and also the
country’s longest bobsleigh track welcomes guests throughout the

Guided tours in the countryside
We offer to take our guests on guided half-day or whole-day tours by our Toyota Hilux cross-country cars. This programme is available for groups of 2-16 people. Route: from Borospatak to Apahavas, Naskalat, the Red Lake and the Bicaz Gorge.
The Csángó evening
This is an evening event where the local culture is presented through folk attire, folk dance and traditional folk music. The guests are provided a historical overview and a presentation of musical instruments and traditional costumes. Traditional dancing lessons are also very popular among our guests.
