Kúria

Story:
The greatest ornament of the hillside is the Kúria (aka country mansion). It was reconstructed from the material of a house built in 1867.

It is a two-floor house with two 4-person rooms, two 5-person rooms, all with private bathrooms. The basement holds a larger room with a kitchen suitable for 6 people. Also, in the basement we have built further showers and restrooms for our guests staying at the houses on the hillside.

Story:

Our event barn was built using the material from two old barns. It seats more than 200 people and is suitable for conferences, parties, weddings and baptism ceremonies. Extended by two covered terraces and two separate restrooms it stands at our guests’ disposal in winter and summer.

Story:
This atmospheric community space was built of flat stones deriving from the brook running through the Skanzen. It can be heated and smoking is allowed. Suitable for smaller events, seats up to 40 people.

Museum

Story:
Our museum offers a deeper insight into the ethnographic heritage of the Gyimes region. Guests may find information about old, traditional furnishings and furniture, traditional folk attire and various other interesting objects that are on display.

The mill

Story:
This old watermill was originally built in the village of Görbepataka in 1873 and then restored in the Skanzen in 2012. The flour for our homemade bread is milled here but the mill also grinds corn for our farm animals.  There is a separate part of the mill house that functions as a tiny wellness resort hiding a 6-person sauna and a 3-person salt chamber. A huge wooden open-air hot water bathtub provides our guests further possibility for relaxation.

The chapel

Story:
Based on our own architectural plan, the chapel was built in 2015.  For the construction we used old wood material then roofed over with traditional wood shingle. The chapel has coffered ceiling painted by István Szász and András Bálint. The stations of the cross are artworks by Tibor Kádár and the beautiful lead glass windows were made by Tibor Bráda.
