About the Skanzen
A collection of traditional village houses and a place to stay in one. Visitor centre and event venue. Café and museum. Every guest can relax in a museum-like setting. A wedding venue with accommodation for 150!
Operating since 2008, the Skanzen is the result of rescuing 15 old farmhouses.

The mill that fed the valley
A traditional water-powered mill once stood at the heart of village life, grinding grain for dozens of households at a time. One still works here today, exactly as it did a century ago.
Did you know? In the old days, a working mill served roughly 50 people in the valley. For today's visitors, the same water also fills the tub — our outdoor, wood-fired bathing tub.

Before you arrive.
What does a stay include?
An overnight stay in a restored farmhouse, breakfast from our farm kitchen, unlimited access to the skanzen grounds and gardens, and free on-site parking.
How far in advance should I book?
In high season and at weekends the houses fill up fast. We recommend booking your preferred dates at least 2-4 weeks before arrival.
Can you help with transfers or organising custom tours?
Yes, we're happy to help arrange local transfers, and on request we can put together personalised hikes or heritage programs.
Can day visitors also visit the museum?
Of course! The skanzen and the restaurant are open to daytime visitors too, even if you're not staying the night with us.
